Water in Oil Tank Removal Portadown

SSS Alleviate were instructed to inspect for the present of water/sludge inside an oil tank after the oil boiler at the property broke down. As the homeowner did not have any heat until the issue was sorted, we attended site on the same day as being called. Using water detection paste, we were able to confirm a significant amount of water was present at the bottom the tank, which had entered the oil supply line.

Using our specialised pumping equipment, we quickly removed around 100L of water/sludge. The oil supply pipe was also drained of water and sludge to prevent any more oily water reaching the pump. The boiler was then tested and fortunately on this occasion, it did not require a replacement oil pump. Heat was reinstated to the property, immediately.

We also undertook a very thorough inspection on the oil tank to check whether the water was coming from cracks/openings in the tank or condensation. It appeared that there is a combination of both sources as there was some signs of cracking at the top of the tank. We sealed any openings as a temporary measure and talked through the options for a replacement oil tank.

If you have noticed an urgent issue with your oil tank such as bulging or a cracking, we urge you to contact us immediately or visit our page on oil leak response. If you are looking water in oil tank,  for oil tank removal or oil tank replacement call us on 07391270659 or email info@sssalleviate.com.
